While perusing the Peanut Butter aisle at my local Walmart, I discovered an awesome new product from Jif™. They now have developed a Jif™ Peanut Powder. My eyes lit up, wide with anticipation. This Peanut Powder would be the ultimate addition to our favorite candied almond snack. Regular Jif™ Peanut Powder is made from just one ingredient – fresh roasted peanuts – and has no added sugar or salt like other similar products. Jif™ Peanut Powder also has the same amount of protein of regular lovable peanut butter, but amazingly has 85% less fat. It’s officially my new favorite way to add that delicious peanut butter taste to our smoothies, my baking recipes, breakfast, snacks, and much more!
We’ve got some serious Peanut Butter fans in this house. Aaron is quite literally a peanut butter addict, so we can never have too much of this delicious spread in the pantry. Both of us are currently trying to live a more active lifestyle, which has lead me to look for alternatives to our normal snacking routine. Being as busy as we sometimes are, snacking keeps me from losing the energy I need to get through the day. Sometimes I’m just too busy to sit down to a meal and snacking helps me push through until I can get to lunch. With all of that in mind, I wanted to create a recipe that would incorporate our active and busy lifestyles and satisfy Aaron’s Peanut Butter addiction.
That being said, the Peanut Powder would be the perfect additive to my candied almonds recipe, because it’s a lower fat alternative to traditional peanut butter. The much lower fat content allows the almonds to roast effectively. This more nutritious powder will also apply to my 2016 fitness goals. I have to also mention the Jif™ Chocolate Peanut Powder that’s also available. This flavor variation contains semisweet chocolate and just a tad of sugar, making it another perfect chocoholic variation that could be used in this candied almond recipe.
This recipe is simple and super tasty. Not only is it a great go to snack, but it makes a great gift, a wonderful smoothie topper, and also goes wonderfully on other breakfast goods like waffles or breakfast oats.
